About coaching
What is a divorce coach?
A divorce coach helps you stay clear, organized, and steady through separation or divorce. Together, we sort through priorities, get your documents and questions in order, prepare for important conversations, and plan your next steps. Coaching focuses on the practical and emotional side of the process, so you can make decisions with a calmer mind.
How is coaching different from therapy?
Therapy helps you heal and work through emotions, past experiences, and mental-health concerns, and it’s provided by a licensed professional. Coaching is focused on the present and the next step: getting organized, preparing, and moving forward. Many people benefit from both. If you would benefit from therapy, coaching can work alongside it, not in place of it.
How is coaching different from working with an attorney?
Your attorney gives legal advice and represents you in your case. Just Exhale does not give legal advice, prepare legal documents, or represent you. Coaching helps you prepare for your attorney meetings, so the time you spend with them goes toward your case and costs you less in back-and-forth.
Do I still need an attorney if I work with a coach?
Coaching does not replace an attorney. In most divorces, it’s wise to have at least a consultation with a licensed family law attorney about your situation. Coaching can help you figure out what kind of support you need and prepare good questions before you meet with one.
I’m not sure I want a divorce yet. Is coaching still for me?
Yes. Phase 1 is designed for people who are considering divorce, have just decided, or have just been served. Coaching can help you get clear on where you stand and what your options might be, without pressure in either direction. If you and your spouse want help working on the marriage, a licensed couples therapist is the right place to start.
Who is coaching for?
Just Exhale is designed for professionals and busy parents who want a calm, organized way through separation or divorce. It’s a good fit if you feel overwhelmed, want to be prepared, and are ready to take an active part in your next steps.
Do you work with clients outside Florida?
Yes. My experience is in Florida divorces, and I work with clients in any location. Coaching is fully online. Divorce laws and court processes vary from place to place, so your local attorney will guide the legal side, and I’ll help you get organized and prepared for those conversations.
Getting started
What happens on the free Fit Consultation?
It’s a confidential 15-minute phone call. We’ll talk about where you are and what feels most pressing, and you’ll learn how coaching works and whether it’s the right fit. There’s no pressure, no obligation, and no legal advice. If coaching isn’t the right support for you right now, you’ll leave with ideas for who can help.
What happens after the consultation?
If coaching feels like a good fit, I’ll send you an email recommending a starting point, usually Phase 1. If you’d like to begin, I’ll send your coaching agreement and an invoice. Once both are complete, you’ll get a link to schedule your first session.
When can I start?
Free Fit Consultations begin January 4, 2027. You can reserve your time now.
Do I have to commit to all three phases?
No. Most clients start with Phase 1. At the end of each phase, we review your progress together, and either of us can decide that’s the right place to stop, with no penalty. You can also choose the Full Path if you’d like all three phases at a lower per-session rate.
Sessions and support
How are sessions held?
All sessions are private and held online by video through Google Meet, Monday through Friday. You’ll need a quiet, private space and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera. You don’t need to download anything if you’re using a computer.
How long is each session?
Each session is 60 minutes. Your first session in Phase 1 is a 90-minute deep dive.
Can I reach you between sessions?
Yes. Weekday email support is included while your phase is active, and weekday emails are answered within 24 hours. Weekends are for rest, including yours. Email support is for questions and quick check-ins, not urgent situations. If you are in crisis, call or text 988. In an emergency, call 911.
What if I need to reschedule?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less notice may count as used. Full rescheduling terms are in your coaching agreement.
Privacy and boundaries
Is what I share confidential?
Yes, I keep what you share private. There are a few limits: if there is a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, if a child may be in danger, or if the law requires disclosure. It’s also important to know that conversations with a coach are not protected by attorney-client privilege. Anything specific about your legal case is best discussed directly with your attorney. Your coaching agreement explains these limits in full.
Can my spouse and I work with you together?
No. To keep things fair and avoid a conflict of interest, I coach one person in a divorce, not both spouses. If you’re both looking for support, I’m happy to share ideas for other coaches.
Can you talk to my attorney?
Only if you ask me to and give written permission. Even then, I don’t give legal opinions or take part in your legal strategy. Most of the time, coaching helps you prepare clear questions so you can talk with your attorney directly.
Do you attend mediation or court?
No. Just Exhale does not attend mediation or court. Phase 3 includes a dedicated session to prepare for mediation and a debrief session afterward.
Can you help me fill out my divorce paperwork?
No. Just Exhale doesn’t prepare or file legal documents or give advice about what to put in them. Coaching can help you gather and organize your information, so you’re ready when your attorney asks for it.
Do you work with children?
No. Coaching is for adults. If you have children, Phase 2 includes co-parenting communication tools, and I can help you think through what support your children might need, such as a family therapist.
Pricing and payment
How much does coaching cost?
Coaching is a flat $375 per session, organized into three phases: Phase 1 ($1,500), Phase 2 ($2,250), and Phase 3 ($2,250). The Full Path, all three phases together, is $5,600. See the Services & Pricing page for full details.
Why don’t you bill by the hour?
Divorce already comes with enough uncertainty. With one flat rate per session and no charges for emails, you always know what your next step costs before you take it.
How do I pay?
Each phase is paid at the start through a secure online invoice. You never prepay for more than one phase unless you choose the Full Path.
Is coaching covered by insurance?
No. Divorce coaching is not a medical or mental-health service, so it isn’t covered by health insurance.
What are founding client rates?
Current rates are founding rates for clients who begin by June 30, 2027. Founding clients keep their rate for every phase they complete.
